SALARY: £31,200 pa
HOURS: Monday - Friday inclusive. 9.00am - 3.30pm. Term time only.

Castles Education LLP is a fast-growing group of Independent Schools providing specialist educational services for 11 – 16-year-old students with social emotional and mental health issues. Our ‘Futures’ educational programme aims to build self-belief, create social and personal opportunity, raise standards, develop ambitious personal aspirations and to create safe trusting environments for everyone in our care regardless of their social, emotional, personal or geographical background.

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to help us build upon the Castles vision. The ideal education professional will be a high-calibre English Teacher with a proven track record of delivering the English curriculum.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their previous effectiveness in such a role, be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to achieve excellence in teaching standards and must be able to inspire both pupils and team members through their passion for this challenging sector.

Purpose of the Post:

Castles are looking to appoint an ambitious, inspirational English Teacher. They must be dedicated and enthusiastic and able to support our students on Education Health Care Plans. You will have the drive and determination to educate and encourage progression to our expanding student intake.

This is an exciting role within a school that has an outstanding reputation for its dedication to inclusion. We are looking for someone who can work effectively within a committed teaching team and alongside our support staff.

You will possess a genuine commitment, making a positive contribution to the school and the pupils.

Castles Schools are modern, vibrant facilities with excellent equipment hosting up to 60 students per School at one time. Our Lincoln School is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and you will be expected to help build on our existing achievements with a view to demonstrating continuous improvement in all measurable progress areas and teaching standards

Class sizes are small which promotes our desire for high-quality teaching and learning.

Our learners are supported with external vocational experience providing the holistic learning environment required for a rounded education.

About you:

To be considered for this role you will ideally be a highly skilled teacher of English (holding QTS/QTLS), who has a proven track record of engaging and managing young learners who have previously struggled to meet their potential in other environments. You will be supported by a management team of School Leaders with a national reputation for the implementation of Alternative Provision programmes.

Additionally you will:

  • Have previous experience working in the SEMH school sector / environment.

  • Be a specialist English Teacher.

  • Have experience of GCSE marking and assessment.

  • Be of a naturally nurturing and supportive nature with good behaviour management strategies.

  • Have patience, understanding and a sense of humour.

  • Be willing to undergo a thorough vetting and recruitment process.
