Anti Drug Crime Workshop.

ANTI DRUG CRIME WORKSHOP with HERMEN DANGE

In early March, our KS4 children took part in a series of Anti-drug crime workshops led by Hermen Dange from the Make Life Kind Charity. The four workshops delivered a consistent anti-drug crime message with each being adapted to carefully meet the individual learning needs of our pupils.

Hermen is a sportsperson and public speaker from Manchester who is also an ex-inmate who had previously been involved with drug and gang activity but now focuses on positively inspiring a new generation by re-telling his own life story.

All of the children received the same consistent message from Hermen, that ‘your choices will impact your life’. The children were enthralled to hear Hermen’s story and to explore his personal journey by asking many complex and probing questions.

Hermen’s time in prison, was a turning point for him where he threw himself into educational courses and started creating a different type of ‘Gang’ through networking, and through discovering and developing positive talents in others. Hermen now delivers courses across England and Wales in schools, prisons, and youth centres.

The workshops were commissioned to support key goals within our Personal Social Health and Economics (PSHE) curriculum.

We hope that our students participation in these workshops will help empower them to make better life choices in the future.
